General Missionary Fund

“With the recent change in missionary age of service, the number of missionaries serving has increased dramatically. Many of these new missionaries come from modest circumstances. To help maintain this missionary force, we encourage members, as they are able, to contribute regularly and generously to the General Missionary Fund of the church.”
– Letter from the First Presidency, June 2013

In record numbers, young men and young women from around the globe are feeling the desire to serve. Not all have the financial resources, however, to fully fund a full-time mission. Generous donors provide needed funding so that all who want to serve a full-time mission may do so. These missionaries not only bring blessings to the lives of the many people they serve and teach, but they are also blessed in return for their service as they gain communication and leadership skills.

The response of our young people has been remarkable and inspiring. As of October, 2014, there are currently 83,035 full-time missionaries serving.  It has been necessary to create 58 new missions to accommodate the increased numbers of missionaries.

To help maintain this missionary force, and because many of our missionaries come from modest circumstances, we invite you, as you are able, to contribute generously to the General Missionary Fund of the Church.
